Governor Cooke Addresses Concerned RCIA Employees About Future
July 3, 2022 - Governor Cooke recently spoke with employees of the Rufus County International Airport who were concerned that they would lose the current pay that they make after the airport closes permanently after the Rufus-Nimitz International Airport opens. During the conference, he addressed these concerns by offering several benefits and perks of transitioning to the new airport.
"I fully understand the concern that many of you may have, but let me just reassure you that we have great benefits for any of you that choose to move the new airport," said Gov. Cooke. "We will allow RCIA employees to keep their 401(K) as well as the current pay. They will also be allowed to keep their health packages and will keep their other host of benefits."
The State of New Shire, according to Gov. Cooke, will be signing a bill that will prevent current RCIA employees from being denied their current benefits and pay. We will continue to work with the employees.
Employees will however lose their pay or benefits if they leave the RCIA airport or don't work for the new Rufus-Nimitz International Airport.
